DESCRIPTION:Join a timely and highly relevant conversation between Michael Dimock\, President of Roots of Change\, and Peggy Duvette\, Executive Director of WiserEarth\, about Proposition 37\, a Mandatory Labeling of Genetically Engineered Food Initiative\, which is on the November 6\, 2012 ballot in California as an initiated state statute. \n\n	DATE: Wednesday Oct 17th 6:30pm – 8pm \n\n	LOCATION: TBA (San Francisco) \n\n	Free of charge.  RSVP \n\n	Snacks and drink will be served \n\n	If Proposition 37 is approved by voters\, it will: \n\n\n		Require labeling on raw or processed food offered for sale to consumers if the food is made from plants or animals with genetic material changed in specified ways.\n\n		Prohibit labeling or advertising such food as "natural."\n\n		Exempt from this requirement foods that are "certified organic; unintentionally produced with genetically engineered material; made from animals fed or injected with genetically engineered material but not genetically engineered themselves; processed with or containing only small amounts of genetically engineered ingredients; administered for treatment of medical conditions; sold for immediate consumption such as in a restaurant; or alcoholic beverages."\n\n\n	Participants are invited to share their thoughts on the topic and ideas on how to insure the passage of Proposition 37.
