Farmers & Ranchers: Healthy Food Access
Everyone has the right to benefit from the nutritious bounty of our great state. Roots of Change is looking for farmers who are working on issues related to healthy food access. If you are a farmer helping to bring fresh foods into schools, participating in gleaning programs, providing fresh fruits and vegetables to food banks or promoting healthy food access in any other way please email us at info at rootsofchange.org and tell us a little bit about yourself.
Star Route Farms participated in Marin Organic's first National Gleaning Day on September 20, 2010 when the Marin Organic Glean Team and nearly 100 students and parents from eight schools harvested extra tomatoes, lettuces, melons, peppers, cucumbers and chard from four Marin Organic member farms. Thanks to their hard work, more than 500 lbs. of healthy, local produce was donated to schools throughout Marin County.
