How do I know how much I am saving on my electric bill?

Our family has been making extra efforts to be more economical at home by using CFL's, turning lites off when not in use, buying locally, and keeping the heat turned down. How can I figure out how much we are saving - ourselves and the environment via all of our activities?

Wondering about the safety of local produce?

Most folks I talk to say locally produced fruits and vegetables are safe from bad pesticides. Other people I talk to say they still use pesticides, but "organic" chemicals. What's the real story?
