Roots of Change works together with California industries and communities to ensure that every aspect of our food—from the time it’s grown to the time it’s eaten—can be healthy, safe, profitable and fair for those who grow it and for the state where it’s grown. We focus our efforts in three areas: Convening, Scaling Change and Policymaking.

Roots of Change collaborates with a diverse collection of organizations and individuals to research, conceptualize and propose policies designed to change the Californian food and farming system.

Roots of Change identifies and applies resources to the leverage points in the food and farming system that offer the highest potential to transform the way food is produced and made available in California.

Roots of Change works at the state and local levels to connect and support the people and organizations that have the knowledge, roles, relationships, and commitments required to nourish California now and in the future.
